Few classic Ferraris can claim the level of individuality, craftsmanship, and engineering transformation seen in this extraordinary Ferrari 330 GT One-Off. Inspired by the timeless proportions of the legendary Ferrari California models of the 1960s, this unique creation was developed as a fully bespoke grand touring Spyder — combining vintage Ferrari elegance with modern usability and refined mechanical upgrades.
Built from a 1964 Ferrari 330 GT chassis and extensively re-engineered over five years, this one-off automobile represents an exceptional fusion of classic Ferrari heritage and custom Italian coachbuilding artistry.
A One-Off Ferrari Created Without Compromise
This unique project was commissioned by a passionate enthusiast with the ambition of creating the ultimate usable classic Ferrari Spyder.

The transformation was carried out under the direction of Formula One engineer Renato Moscati, while the work itself was completed by Auto-Officina Ferrari Sauro Bologna alongside renowned Ferrari specialists from Modena.
Development began in 2010 and was completed in 2015 after approximately 3,000 hours of craftsmanship and engineering refinement.
Unlike traditional restorations, this project involved comprehensive modifications to the chassis, drivetrain, suspension, bodywork, and interior while preserving the authentic spirit of a 1960s Ferrari grand tourer.
Reengineered Chassis and Bespoke Spyder Bodywork
One of the most significant engineering modifications was the extension of the wheelbase by 25 centimeters.
This extensive structural redesign improved overall balance and allowed the creation of a unique retractable folding soft top system hidden beneath the rear bodywork — a solution not seen on any other Ferrari 330 GT.

Additional chassis reinforcements and a newly designed integrated roll-bar further improved rigidity and driving stability.
The body itself was completely dismantled, sandblasted, and rebuilt to exceptional standards by Ferrari bodywork specialist Franco in Modena. The final design captures the flowing lines and proportions associated with Ferrari’s most iconic open-top GT models.
Enhanced V12 Performance
At the heart of the car remains the original Ferrari 330 GT V12 engine, fully rebuilt to zero kilometers during the restoration process.

Performance enhancements include:
- Revised camshaft profiles based on the racing version of the 330 engine
- Larger 46mm Weber carburetors
- Improved torque delivery and drivability
- Increased output to approximately 375 horsepower
- Lower engine placement for improved center of gravity
- Revised cooling system with additional fan
The engine position was also relocated lower and further rearward to improve weight distribution and steering balance.
Improved Driving Dynamics
Unlike many classic Ferraris of the era, this one-off example was engineered with usability and modern road behavior in mind.
Key mechanical upgrades include:
- Fully redesigned braking system with Brembo ventilated discs and calipers
- Adjustable VPS suspension system front and rear
- Reinforced clutch assembly
- 5-speed synchronized manual gearbox derived from the Ferrari 330 GTC/4
- Revised transmission setup
- Larger-capacity fuel tank
These upgrades significantly improve handling precision, braking confidence, and long-distance touring capability while maintaining the analogue character expected from a classic Ferrari V12.
Bespoke Interior Craftsmanship

The interior reflects the same attention to detail found throughout the project.
Highlights include:
- Beige leather seats
- Black dashboard inspired by the Ferrari 330 GTC
- Black door trim details
- High-quality carpeting and materials
- Folding aluminum soft top
- Wooden steering wheel
- Air conditioning
- Electric windows and mirrors
The combination of traditional Ferrari design language and discreet modern comfort features makes this car genuinely usable for regular driving.
