A Legendary Bugatti Reborn
Some automobiles are collectible because they are rare.
Others are collectible because they are historically significant.
Very few become truly extraordinary because they combine rarity, historical importance, remarkable provenance, and exceptional restoration quality in a single package.
This Bugatti EB110 GT is one of those rare exceptions.
Delivered new in 1994 and showing just over 7,100 kilometers from new, chassis #071 is not only one of the finest surviving examples of the legendary EB110 GT, but also one of the most comprehensively restored. Its history includes ownership by one of the world’s most prominent royal collections, a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration, and appearances at some of the most prestigious concours events in the collector car world.
For enthusiasts of modern automotive icons, opportunities of this caliber rarely emerge.
The Car That Revived Bugatti

Long before the Veyron and Chiron re-established Bugatti as the benchmark for hypercar engineering, there was the EB110.
Introduced in 1991 to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Ettore Bugatti’s birth, the EB110 represented one of the most ambitious supercar projects ever undertaken.
At a time when Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche dominated the segment, Bugatti returned with a car that was technologically years ahead of its rivals.
The EB110 featured a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, all-wheel drive, active aerodynamics, and a quad-turbocharged V12 engine — technologies that would become commonplace decades later but were revolutionary at the time.
Today, many historians regard the EB110 as one of the most advanced supercars of the 1990s and a direct predecessor to the modern hypercar era.
Its significance within automotive history continues to grow with every passing year.
A Remarkable Provenance
The history of this particular example adds another layer of desirability.
Finished in the rare and elegant Rosso Scuro over a dual-tone grey interior, the car was originally delivered through Monte Carlo Royal Motors in Monaco to Italian businessman Gualtiero Giribaldi, a well-known collector with an extensive stable of exotic automobiles.
The car remained in his ownership for over a decade before being offered at auction in Monaco in 2005.
At the time, the EB110 had covered just over 7,000 kilometers and was described as being in exceptional condition.

Its next custodian would prove even more notable.
The car entered the collection of H.H. Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, member of the Kuwaiti royal family and former Prime Minister of Kuwait, where it remained for approximately seventeen years.
As part of one of the most significant automotive collections in the Middle East, the EB110 spent much of its life preserved rather than driven.
By the time the collection was dispersed through auction in 2023, the car had accumulated only 7,105 kilometers from new.
The Ultimate Restoration
While the vehicle remained visually impressive, decades of storage in the Gulf climate inevitably affected mechanical components and underlying systems.
Recognizing the significance of the car, its new owner commissioned Art & Revs to undertake a comprehensive restoration program.
This was not a cosmetic refurbishment.

The car was completely disassembled down to its chassis and restored with extraordinary attention to detail.
The objective was clear: return the EB110 to precisely the condition in which it left the Bugatti factory in Campogalliano in 1994.
Importantly, the restoration preserved the original paintwork and factory finishes wherever possible, maintaining authenticity while renewing every necessary mechanical component.
The result is widely regarded as one of the finest EB110 GT restorations completed in recent years.
Many specialists consider it among the best examples in existence.
A Concours-Level Presentation

The quality of the restoration quickly attracted international recognition.
Following completion, the car made its public reappearance at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in 2024, one of the world’s most prestigious automotive gatherings.
Its presentation generated significant attention among collectors, historians, and Bugatti enthusiasts.
The car subsequently appeared at Retromobile 2025, further cementing its status as one of the most important EB110 GT examples currently in existence.
These appearances serve as independent validation of both the vehicle’s significance and the exceptional quality of the restoration work performed.
Few collector cars receive this level of scrutiny and acclaim.
Engineering Decades Ahead of Its Time

Even today, the technical specification of the EB110 remains impressive.
The quad-turbocharged V12 engine, advanced all-wheel-drive system, and carbon-fibre chassis created a level of sophistication rarely seen during the early 1990s.
The GT variant was designed as the more luxurious interpretation of the EB110 formula, combining extraordinary performance with long-distance usability.
Unlike many supercars of its era, the Bugatti feels remarkably modern to drive.
Its stability, refinement, and engineering integrity remain deeply impressive even by contemporary standards.
This ability to blend usability with cutting-edge technology is one of the reasons the model has become increasingly appreciated among serious collectors.

One of the Most Important Modern Bugattis
The collector market has increasingly recognized the importance of the EB110.
What was once considered an overlooked chapter in Bugatti history is now viewed as one of the defining supercars of the twentieth century.
Production numbers were exceptionally low, surviving examples are limited, and truly outstanding cars with documented provenance are rarer still.
This example benefits from virtually every characteristic sought by top-tier collectors:
- Low mileage
- Rare original specification
- Royal ownership history
- Extensive documentation
- Concours-level restoration
- International event appearances
- Exceptional originality
Together, these attributes place chassis #071 among the most desirable EB110 GTs available anywhere in the world.
